LEGO Star Wars Armored Assault Tank (AAT) (8018)

LEGO Star Wars Armored Assault Tank (AAT) (8018) A big hit with this Lego fan – Carol Jones –
Santa brought this set to my almost 7 year old. I was worried that he would not be able to assemble it by himself since the age range on the box is older than he is. Boy was I surprised. He did a great job putting it together and did it all by himself. He was so proud that he could do it alone and he has enjoyed playing with it ever since. This toy was a big hit for my Lego fan!! Another bonus is it has several people in it too which he was thrilled about.
LEGO Star Wars Armored Assault Tank (AAT) – M. E. McAhron –
I purchased this Lego Assault Weapon for my 11 year old grandson. The day after he received it, he spread the parts on the floor, looked at the instructions and proceeded to put it all together. I liked the quality of the toy after its assembly. Shane received it on the 8th and he continues to enjoy having it and playing with it. I thought it was educational in that Shane had to folliow all the instructions accompanying it and was successful in completing its construction. For me, personally, I appreciate the fact that it is still together w/o having pieces drop off so often that it becomes frustrating for the owner to use it. A BIG plus! :) I would recommend it to others.

Retail Wood Hangers

May 6th, 2010 by bioinsider

Wood hangers make a definite good impression on your customers. They are a reminder that your store offers the highest quality clothing. They show that you do not cut corners and that you care more about quality than cost. Customers are moved to pay more for certain items than they initially would have, based on the quality assumption that they made when they stepped into your store. Wood hangers can have a much bigger impact than you may think.

The first impression is definitely the most important. When someone walks into your store, you, of course, want them to realize the value of what you have to offer. Plus, you want to build a solid reputation with this customer so that they will network for you and bring in more business. When you put a price tag on something, that number will tell your customer what you are promising to offer. If you want a high price for an item compared to other stores, then you are making a promise to the consumer that yours is better, higher quality and worth the extra money.

Once that promise has been recognized in a consumer’s mind, they are going to look around to see if they believe that they can trust you and your store. Looking around and seeing cram-packed rolling racks with clothes on the floor and broken plastic hangers everywhere, is not going to make them think that you are delivering on the quality that they would expect for the price. Seeing perfectly garments hanging neatly and wrinkle-free on high quality wood hangers will help them to feel secure in their choice to trust you.

This is just an example of how something that seems as minuscule as a hanger can actually have a big impact on your sales. You can take it one step further by having your name constantly be associated with this trustful feeling. Get your wooden hangers embossed with your logo and make them a constant in your store. Store fixtures and accessories help identify a store and brand its image as much as the products that it offers.

Wooden hangers may at first seem like a big expense for a store. But the fact of the matter is that wooden hangers very rarely need to be replaced. They can be purchased in bulk, directly from the manufacturer. Their value in impressions can turn into a lot more sales. Consider stocking your retail store with wood hangers and make sure that you are always viewed as a high quality store.

LEGO Star Wars Trade Federation AAT (7155) star wars lego ship aat (7155) – F. Bauer –
Great building project and collector’s toy. The ship took an hour for my seven year old to assemble. It did not come in its original box (ziplock bag with directions), but is used almost daily in imaginary play, and is cherished.

Use Jelly Beans to Increase Your Store’s Profit and Have Fun With Displays

May 1st, 2010 by bioinsider

Jelly Beans are classic candies that span the ages, and creating a Jelly Belly display in your store is a great way to increase your profit while having some fun!

The even better news is that displays of these candies work well in nearly every kind of store. Candy stores, grocery stores, bookstores, toy stores, gas stations and convenience stores – they all have room for these kinds of candy displays.

Before you become too excited, however, you need to make a few preparations; namely, you need to choose where in your store you want to create the display, what kinds of candy containers you want to use to display the candy, and exactly what kinds of Jelly Beans you want to include.

Step #1: Choose Your Display Space

You don’t want to order your Jelly Belly candies and then just throw up a display anywhere you can find room. To make help increase your store’s profit, you need to display the candies somewhere where customers can easily see and access them, and ideally near similar kinds of candy.

Do you want to create a countertop display? A floor display? A wall display? Do you want your display to be modest or large? These are the kinds of questions you need to answer before you can move on to the next step: Choosing the acrylic containers you’ll use to display the candies.

Step #2: Choose Acrylic Bins to Display Jelly Beans

Acrylic containers are usually the best choice for displaying unwrapped candy, and for some storeowners it’s the only choice: Many state health departments require them to display unwrapped candy in acrylic containers.

Fortunately, there are plenty of fun acrylic bins to choose from. Consider acrylic round face bins and acrylic mini bins, great for both countertop and table displays and complete with acrylic scoops to help your customers access the Jelly Beans they want. You might want to check out acrylic gravity bins, which help you save space and help keep the candy untouched, or you might want to add some flair to your displays with acrylic candy towers or gumball machines.

Step #3: Choose Your Jelly Beans

Now that you know how and where you want to situate your Jelly Bean display, it’s time to order the actual Jelly Beans!

Naturally, you’ll want to order the candy from a wholesaler, but before you submit an order form with the first company you run across, be sure to shop around. Ordering from a candy wholesaler helps you get the most bang for your buck, but shopping around for the company that offers exactly what you need at the best price for your budget helps stretch your dollar even further.

Candy Concepts, Inc. specializes in providing businesses with everything from a wide variety of candy containers to the bulk candy and novelty items to fill them with! Learn more about the kinds acrylic containers you can use in your store when you visit http://www.candyconceptsinc.com.

Name Tags – Identify

April 30th, 2010 by bioinsider

Here is our little story of article embarrassment.

OK, here’s the situation, you walk into a department store. You head through all the clutter you have no interest in. Walking to what appears to be the TV section you find only CD’s. Confused, you stand blank spinning 360, gazing around the store. No TV’s, what the heck is going on here. Guess we’ll have to ask someone. For the male ego, not so easy. Again, staring around the store you find someone who appears to have on a uniform, you walk up slowly and ask, “Excuse me, where do you have the TV’s?” The woman stares at you blankly and says, “Excuse me, I don’t work here.”

Embarrassed you turn and walk away.

We’ve all been through this. It only needs to happen once before you start looking more closely for a name tag in the future. Name tags are a very important part of any customer service based business. The most important purpose of the name tag being that of identifying the employees from the customers.

Of course, saving you from this embarrassing moment. Another very valuable component of the name tag is breaking down barriers when communicating with customers. Most customers want personalized service, to feel that their business is important to you. A nametag will allow the customer to feel more comfortable in knowing the employees name and position in the company. And hopefully will be the deciding factor in whether that person purchases products or services from your company.

Design a Better Retail Store Layout

April 28th, 2010 by bioinsider

When you start contemplating making changes to your retail store layout, there are some store layout basics that you should consider. If a store is to be remodeled, I like to start by doing enough research to know what’s working well with the current layout and what isn’t. How are people moving through the store? What are elements about the current design that should be saved or replicated in  the new retail store layout?

Here are some retail store layout basics that you should consider: There has been research completed , much of it by Paco Underhill and his company Envirosell, that gives us some very basic principles that we should adhere to. For example there should be an area inside the front door that is void of product display. This area of perhaps 12 or 14 feet square has been termed the “decompression zone”.  The decompression zone allows customers to enter your store and adjust to your environment. The decompression zone, when done right, communicates a “welcome” to your patrons and allows them to make their first judgments of your retail world. Their first judgments are often the ones that stick so this area of adjustment is very important.

Another phenomenon Underhill has observed is what he has named the “invariant right”. This refers to the fact that when given the opportunity people prefer to, and most often do, move to the right after entering a store. When I am designing a store I always try to encourage people to move in the direction that they are most comfortable. By adhering to this principle whenever possible I notice that the store “feels” better. When a store “feels” better it operates at a higher level and produces better sales and additional profits.

When I am designing a floor plan a couple of additional store layout basics that I consider are balance and symmetry.  Most people react positively to both balance and symmetry. I have tried experiments in which I presented different designs for the same store, some were balanced some were not, some were symmetrical and others weren’t. As retailers studied the various plans I was struck by how often they preferred balance and symmetry though we had not discussed those issues at all. I believe that preference carries through to the shopping experience. I also know that most shoppers would be unaware of the subtle differences and would probably just say the store “felt” better. After all is said and done, the shopping war is one by stores that “feel better” to their patrons. Never forget how important retail store layouts are to the feel of a store.
